Draw the trace of a route on a google map

Monday 19 March 2007, by Paul Courbis

With the software Tripmaster it is possible to keep a record of the path ... With the utility below you can draw a map on Google Maps "... Aspartic when hiking off-road ride or walk with the Rider in the pocket!

To carry out the plot, you must:

- Launch Tripmaster

- Activate the registration marks on Tripmaster (see below)

- At end of walk, close Tripmaster

- Retrieve the trace file "*. itn mt" directory "/ itn" Tomtom on your PC and upload it via the link below:

A new window will appear with your route ...

Setting Tripmaster:

The file format to select is the default ("ITN"). I recommend you also select the "new" (a trace file by recording sequence) and recording "Long" (more details).

In the Settings menu, select "Real coordinates (otherwise the data will be corrected by the Tomtom to approximate those of the nearest road).

For best results, I suggest you adjust the recording settings for the type of trip:

For a walk on foot:

- Cap 15 degrees (each shift above this threshold, a point will be recorded);

- Distance 0030 km (each time a distance greater than this threshold is crossed, a point is recorded);

- Period: 15 seconds (one point is recorded every 15 seconds).

For a walk-motorized:

- Cap 15 degrees;

- Distance 0100 meters;

- Period: 15 seconds.

These parameters are adapted according to the desired accuracy and the total journey time (no need to draw on the highway every 100 meters for example).

Here’s an example ... Send me your most unusual ballad!

P.S.

Correction 07/11/2007 - inclusion of negative coordinates (bug in the filtering of files submitted)
